July 5, 2009Watkins GlenHey everyone! Sorry for the week off at Richmond. Unfortunately, I was out of town and unable to watch the race.
Anwhoo, hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July! I had a blast last night hanging out with friends and was super ready for all the sports events on today: Wimbledon Men's Singles Finals with Andy Roddick and Roger Federer (poor Andy for the loss, he played a good match today!) and, of course, Indycar @ Watkins Glen!!
I think we all need to give congrats to Justin Wilson for pulling out the win today! Finally seeing someone win other than a Penske or Ganassi is great!
Also, congrats to MA for pulling out a top 5 finish. Unfortunately, I didn't see the contact with Viso early on in the race (I'll have to go find a replay of it on Indycar.com), but what a rough break. He was down a lap for awhile and then pretty much came out of nowhere in the last 10 laps or so. He made some great fuel milage and moved up to 6th, and finally got Mike Conway on the last lap for 5th. Yay!
On another note, hopefully TK can turn some of this bad luck around. Jeesh, we haven't seen much of him all season. Super disappointing. C'mon Team 7-11!!! Marco is now ahead of TK in the points championship. Wasn't expecting that this season. I thought it'd be his year, but after some major crashes/dnfs, they really need to step things up.
On to Torontooooo!
Tip of the Hat:Justin Wilson
Obviously. Haven't seen much of this guy this season yet. With the team change for him this year to Dale Coyne, no one was really sure what to expect. But Justin has really shown his strength on road courses and the team did a great job setting him up for the win at the end with the red alternate tires that proved to be great under short, fast restarts and stints. He really pulled away from the Ganassi and Penske boys there at the end with a 4 second lead going into the final lap! Great run for him and the team. It's always nice to see an underdog team succeed over the big 2. I think it's safe to say that we are all getting a bit sick of Penske/Ganassi dominating. Good job Justin and Dale Coyne Racing!

I'm hoping you had a good Thanksgiving. I watched the last game. This pain won't go away until next season. Hope all is good with your classes.

I know, huh? I thinking the same thing. I saw some of the USC vs Ohio State. I wonder how we're gonna do with them as well.
Let's hope our team can finds bright spot in the season. Last Saturday's lost . . . still hurts. Notre Dame?!?! Geez!
Big bucks. . . no whammies!

Ouch! To Notre Dame! Geez! What does the remainder of the year hold for us! I'm still hurting.

I will not be able to attend any games this year. :-( I watch them on t.v. every chance I get. I have a Michigan flag hanging in my kitchen window.
I have money on Saturday's game with a co-worker.
Just love the Wolverines!

I totally understand how you feel. We will continue to do better. The next game is on television. Were you able to score any tickets for any home games this year?
I just know we can, I just know we can, I just know we can!
:-)

I was totally heartbroken. But it's still early. Whether we're a new team, with a new coach I really believe we can overcome and have a good year.
I'll be glued to the television for every game that's on.
I think we can! I think we can! I think we can!
May the force be with us.
:-)
