My girlfriend and her husband used to attend the Richmond race. For thirteen years I attended the Nazareth race. It was the highlight of my year. I used to talk to Marco at the Andretti Fan Club dinners. Now I follow him racing.

I'm looking forward to the October 18th race. I will be able to see it as NBC is suppose to carry it.

Have a good weekend.

I always thought my grad classes during the summer were harder because it was crammed into a shorter amount of time. I liked it because I could get classes done that I didn't really like fast, like testing & assessment, yuck !

I loved your comment of My Name is IRL's blog. As soon as Marco got caught up in that mess, I thought, "Now no one's going to remember that piece they just did on Michael & Marco". I watch the TV and mute the booth crew so I can stream Mike King & Davey Hamilton on Indycar.com. Two people that have much better things to say about racing...

I know how you feel, I graduated in Dec and had to work at a job I really didn't want to be at until school started the next Aug. I was the 2nd choice for the teaching position, but I've only taught at one school. It's not ideal, but you take what you can get and make the best of it !

Hey, I checked out your blog-I have one on blogger, too. I have taught high school art going on my 10th year. I really enjoy that age group. If you ever need to vent, I taught full time while I was doing my graduate work. I know how redundant some of the material is. Good Luck with your job search & studies !

Indy 500 drivers lend perspective

By indycar.com staff
January 30 2009 10:30 a.m.

Almost 75,000 people will fill the seats of Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla., and millions will tune in on TV/radio/Internet for the Super Bowl XLIII matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Feb. 1. For the players, it will be the chance to perform on football's biggest stage.

The pressure is similar to that experienced by the 33 starters who take the green flag for the Indianapolis 500 every May when the… Continue

Team Loyalties

By Dave Lewandowski

Think of the potential side wagers between the IndyCar Series team owners Chip Ganassi (Pittsburgh) and Michael Andretti (Philadelphia) if that interstate matchup had materialized for Super Bowl XLIII on Feb. 1.

"If the Steelers win, Danica has to purchase her outfit for the '09 Championship Celebration at Target," Ganassi says.

"OK, but if the Eagles win, Dixon and Franchitti have to work at a Motorola kiosk at the mall for an… Continue

Views from Trackside

I thought you all might enjoy this. It's from Indycar.com

IMS Radio Network host Mike King checks in weekly with "Views from trackside."

If you happen to be strolling through the driver/owner motorcoach area this weekend at Belle Isle, be on the lookout for a quick-witted 8-year-old with brown hair and a fast electric-powered mini motorcycle.

If you see this dude, stop him and say hello. Luca Andretti is quite the conversationalist.

I had the pleasure of spending a bit of time with Marco'

Motor oil runs in Andretti family's veins

Original article here

At the Andretti family resort, the members of a clan synonymous with speed enjoy no end of high-revving recreational choices.

There's a circa-1971 racing boat that Mario Andretti, the patriarch and motor-racing legend, has clocked at a top speed of 210 km/h. There are four-wheel off-road vehicles, motocross racers and jet-skis, a water-skiing boat and more.

And when winter falls… Continue

Teammates Andretti, Patrick insist they're at peace despite rumours

The Canadian Press-By John Kekis

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Marco Andretti smiled at the question.

Sure, there might have been a few hard feelings aimed at Andretti Green Racing teammate Danica Patrick after Saturday night's race at Texas Motor Speedway, but they already were forgotten.

"I just said what I was feeling," Andretti said Tuesday during a break in IndyCar testing at Watkins Glen International. "I was frustrated. But we talked it out. It's not the first time it's happened and it's… Continue

Marco Andretti tries to avoid another close shave at Texas Motor Speedway

By RAY BUCK rbuck@star-telegram.com

The Andretti name opens a lot of garage doors.

The latest benefactor is 22-year-old Marco Andretti, carrying the family baton now in his fourth year of IndyCar Racing.

Marco brings to open-wheel racing a familiar name and a fresh face ... uh, a Gillette Fusion-smooth face, if you believe the latest TV commercials in which he appears.

The 30-second spot was originally produced for Russian and Canadian market distribution, but has since taken a circui… Continue
